It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the Faculty of Science, Royal University of Phnom Penh. As the Dean of the Faculty, I am honored to lead a vibrant academic community dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and service to society.
The Faculty of Science currently consists of six departments: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, and Computer Science. Each department is committed to providing high-quality education, developing scientific knowledge, and preparing students with the skills needed to meet the challenges of modern science and technology.
In addition to our programs, the Faculty is proud to offer 1+3 international bachelor degree programs in Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science associated with Angelo State University (located in Texas, USA), which provide students with opportunities to study in an international environment and strengthen their academic and professional competencies. These programs reflect our commitment to global collaboration and the continuous improvement of higher education.
Our mission is to produce qualified graduates with strong scientific background, critical thinking ability, research capacity, and ethical responsibility. We strive to promote innovation, support sustainable development, and contribute to the advancement of science in Cambodia and beyond.

Introduction
The Faculty is dedicated to high-quality teaching, pioneering research, and community service. Its primary goal is to produce graduates with the theoretical knowledge and practical technical skills necessary to support Cambodia’s goal of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2030.
Key Departments
The Faculty of Science is organized into several core departments, each offering undergraduate and, in many cases, postgraduate degrees:
- Department of Biology: Offers a comprehensive B.Sc. in Biology, covering areas from molecular cloning to ecology.
- Department of Chemistry: Provides degrees in General Chemistry and Biochemistry, with a strong focus on analytical chemistry at the Master's level.
- Department of Computer Science: One of the most popular departments, focusing on software development, networking, and IT solutions.
- Department of Environmental Science: Specializes in environmental research, water and air quality, and sustainable resource management.
- Department of Mathematics: Focuses on pure and applied mathematics, preparing students for careers in education, data science, and research.
- Department of Physics: Offers B.Sc. and M.Sc. programs that balance theoretical physics with practical applications in daily life and technology.
