Introduction

UICC’s Background

The UICC was created as a collaborative initiative between RUPP’s Rector and international organizations such as the European Union and the World Bank. This partnership aimed to foster strategic cooperation between Cambodian universities and industries. Founded as part of the Higher Education Improvement Project (HEIP) in 2019, UICC serves as a bridge between academic institutions and industries, particularly in entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology transfer.

UICC acts as a hub for industrial engagement, allowing students to benefit from hands-on experiences and industry exposure through Internship and Career Placement, Industry Demanded Training, and Collaborative Research Projects. sd

Vision

The University-Industry Cooperation Center is to become the linkage center between university and industry contributing to training and development of internship, incubation, entrepreneurship, research and investment.

Mission

The University-Industry Cooperation Center significantly has the firm missions which is to contribute to the development of education and industry sectors.

Initiate and Foster strategic partnerships with industry.
Create and innovate joint activities between the University and Industries.
Sustain partnerships with industries to maximize positive societal impact.

Key Functions

The UICC fulfills various roles to support students and industries, including:

Technology Transfer : Facilitate the transfer of innovative technologies from research labs to the marketplace
Commercialization & Intellectual Property : Support industry in commercialization of Products and Services and Intellectual Property
Media and Marketing : Promote joint University-Industry Activities & Achievement
Operations : Support day-to-day Operations of the University-Industry activities

UICC's Organizational Structure

Partners

The UICC works closely with various industrial partners and international universities to drive projects like UNICES and HEIP. These partnerships play a vital role in developing educational programs that meet industry needs.

Activities

1	Meeting between the University-Industry Cooperation Center (UICC) and Dai-ichi Life.
	Royal University of Phnom Penh: On February 23, 2022, the Vice Rector of the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Mr. Kean Tak and Dr. Or Vitou, Coordinator of the University-Industry Cooperation Center, met to discuss cooperation, student internships, public relations work, marketing and investment with Dai-ichi Life Company in Cambodia.

2	Workshop "Kick-off Meeting & Consultation on Workflow of the University-Industry Cooperation Center"
	Kampot Diamond Hotel: From 1st to 2nd March 2022, the University-Enterprise Cooperation Center organized a workshop in order to strengthen and expand the internal cooperation of the University and the external cooperation with the existing enterprises. There is potential in the current market. The workshop was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Rector Chet Chealy and was attended by many other university leaders.

	LBN Hotel, Kampong Cham Province: On March 28-29, 2022, the University-Industry Cooperation Center organized a workshop on "Draft of Linkage Work Plan between University and Industry of the Royal University of Phnom Penh". The workshop was well attended by university leaders and representatives of four major enterprises: GC life, Wonderpass Technology, CAM-ACTIVE Co., Ltd. And TM-The Multimedia.

4	May 16, 2022 Presided over by HE Dr. Chet Chealy, Rector of the Royal University of Phnom Penh and Mr. Michael Tee, CEO of GC Life.
	Congratulations on the Memorandum of Understanding between the Royal University of Phnom Penh and GC Life.

5	Meeting between the University-Industry Cooperation Center (UICC) and ASIA L & E Co., Ltd.
	Royal University of Phnom Penh: On May 30, 2022, Dr. Or Vitou, Coordinator of the University-Industry Cooperation Center and the team met with ASIA L & E Co., Ltd.

6	Congratulations on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Royal University of Phnom Penh and Wonderpass Technology
	June 14, 2022 Presided over by Dr. Chhun Hok, Vice Rector of the Royal University of Phnom Penh and Ms. Pho Linda, Chairman of the Board of Wonderpass Technology.

7	On July 12, 2022, the Royal University of Phnom Penh held a Memorandum of Understanding Signing Ceremony between the Royal University of Phnom Penh and GC Life.
	On July 12, 2022, at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Royal University of Phnom Penh and GC Life to provide scholarships to six students under the chairmanship of Dr. Oum Ravi, Vice Rector. Of the Royal University of Phnom Penh and Mr. Michael Tee, CEO of GC Life, including the management of both institutions.

8	Retreat on collecting primary input for drafting University-Industry cooperation policy framework.
	Kampot Diamond Hotel: On July 25-26, 2022, the University-Industry Cooperation Center (UICC) organized a retreat with the aim of collecting primary input for the drafting of the University-Industry Cooperation Policy Framework under His Excellency Dr. Som Ratana, Undersecretary of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and other university leaders.
