The Department of Environmental Engineering provides an Honor Bachelor Program designed for exceptionally motivated and high-achieving students who want thorough, in-depth education about environmental challenges and solutions.
 

Department Vision

To foster experts in environmental engineering who can identify, assess, monitor and/or address environmental challenges and contribute to advancing environmental sustainability in Cambodia. 

Bachelor Degree

The Department of Environmental Engineering provides an Honor Bachelor Program designed for exceptionally motivated and high-achieving students who want thorough, in-depth education about environmental challenges and solutions.
 

Study Program

With support from KOICA and GIST, the Department operates the Honor Bachelor Program in environmental engineering. By providing students with a broad range of coursework in environmental engineering, the Department is willing to generate qualified environmental experts who contribute to advancing green, sustainable and climate-resilient environment in Cambodia. Besides obtaining academic knowledge and skills, students can increase communications, teamwork and leadership skills through the coursework of the Program at the Department.

Job Prospects

• Environmental Specialist

As an environmental specialist, she/he observes the effect of humans on the environment, identifies problems and/or risks in investigation areas and offers solutions. She/he contributes to improving the living conditions of humans and the environment.

• Climate Change Specialist

As a climate change specialist, she/he analyzes trends and changes in weather over time by monitoring variations in winds, temperatures, sunlight, rainfall, etc. Based on findings from the analyses, she/he assesses how human activities affect the weather. Moreover, she/he identifies and implements technologies or approaches which can be used for climate change response at the local, national and international levels.

• Water/Wastewater Engineer

As a water/wastewater engineer, she/he works for the management of water quality and quantity, the provision of clean water including drinking water to communities and industries, the treatment and disposal of wastewater, the reduction of flooding impact and risk, etc.

• Waste Management Specialist

As a waste management specialist, she/he designs and manages facilities for waste reduction and reclamation. By working with central and/or local government officials, she/he ensures that hazardous waste disposed of by societies and industries is controlled and monitored appropriately.

• Renewable Energy Specialist

As a renewable energy specialist, she/he conducts the research and development (R&D), deployment and diffusion of technologies for the use of renewable energy. Moreover, she/he engages in evaluating the environmental impacts of renewable energy and developing business models to facilitate the use of renewable energy in societies and industries.

• Professor And Researcher

As a professor and a researcher, she/he carries out research related to environmental challenges and solution development for achieving a green, sustainable and climate-resilient environment in Cambodia. Moreover, she/he educates students to enhance their knowledge and skills, supporting them to be environmental experts.
